How I Started Making Money Online With Affiliate Marketing — And The Course That Helped Me Do It

If you would have told me a few years ago that I could make money online simply by recommending products and resources to other people, I probably wouldn't have believed you.

For the longest time, I thought making a real income online was reserved for influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers, business owners with huge audiences, or people who somehow already knew exactly what they were doing.

Meanwhile, I was living a completely normal life.

I knew what it felt like to wait for payday. I knew what it felt like to check my bank account before spending money. I knew what it felt like to want more out of life financially but have absolutely no idea how to get there.

I didn't want to spend the rest of my life constantly worrying about money.

I wanted freedom.

I wanted to be able to travel.

I wanted to create my own schedule.

I wanted multiple streams of income.

I wanted to wake up and feel excited about my future instead of feeling like my financial situation was controlling what I could and couldn't do.

The problem?

I had no idea where to start.

Until I discovered affiliate marketing.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is actually much simpler than it sounds.

You find products, services or resources that you genuinely believe in and share them with other people using your unique affiliate link.

When someone purchases through your link, you can earn a commission.

You don't have to manufacture a product.

You don't have to keep inventory.

You don't have to package orders every night.

You don't even have to create your own product.

And one of my favorite parts?

You don't need a massive social media following to get started.

That's what initially made affiliate marketing feel so attainable to me.

Instead of trying to become an influencer, I could focus on learning how to create helpful content that reached people who were already looking for solutions.

You Don't Need Thousands of Followers to Make Money Online

This is something I wish more people understood.

When you see people making money online, it's easy to assume:

"Well, of course they're making money. Look at their following."

But having a huge audience isn't the only way to build an online income.

Platforms like Pinterest, blogs and search-based content can help your content reach people outside of your existing followers.

Think about it.

Someone could be searching Pinterest for:

"Best side hustles for beginners"

They find your Pin.

That Pin takes them to your blog.

Your blog recommends a resource that genuinely helps them.

They purchase through your affiliate link.

You just earned a commission from someone who may have never followed you in the first place.

Once I understood this, my entire perspective on making money online changed.

I didn't need millions of people to know who I was.

I needed to learn how to get the right content in front of the right people.

The Course That Helped Me Understand How To Actually Do It

One of the resources that helped me on my affiliate marketing journey was Sara Finance's Affiliate Marketing Course.

And I want to be very clear about something:

I personally took this course.

I'm not recommending a random program that I've never used simply because I can make a commission from it.

I've gone through the course myself, applied what I learned and have actually made money online through affiliate marketing.

That's why I feel comfortable sharing it.

Before learning affiliate marketing, one of my biggest struggles was figuring out where to begin.

There is SO much free information online.

Watch this YouTube video.

Try this strategy.

Download this guide.

Post on this platform.

Build this funnel.

Choose this niche.

After a while, it becomes information overload.

What I needed was someone to basically say:

"Start here. Then do this. Then do this."

That's what having a structured course helped me with.

What I Learned Inside The Course

What I especially liked was that it wasn't only about finding an affiliate link and posting it everywhere.

It taught the bigger picture of actually building an online affiliate marketing business.

Inside the program, Sara covers topics like:

  • Affiliate marketing foundations

  • Creating an online brand

  • Choosing and researching niches

  • Finding high-paying affiliate programs

  • High-ticket vs. low-ticket affiliate offers

  • Building a website

  • Creating landing pages

  • Blogging

  • Pinterest marketing

  • TikTok marketing

  • Instagram marketing

  • YouTube marketing

  • Email marketing

  • Content creation

  • Viral content strategies

  • Personal branding

  • Storytelling

  • AI tools

  • Growing organic traffic

  • Systems and automation

  • Scaling your online business

And that was important to me because I didn't just want to make one random commission.

I wanted to understand the skill behind making money online.

Once you understand how to create content, attract traffic and connect people with products they actually want, you're learning skills that can be applied to so many different online businesses.

Then Something Happened That Changed My Mindset Completely

I actually made money online.

That might sound simple, but if you've never made money outside of a traditional job before, you know how crazy that first realization feels.

Suddenly, something that once seemed almost impossible became real.

I realized:

"Wait...I can actually do this."

And that's the moment everything changes.

Because your first commission isn't just about the money.

It's proof.

Proof that someone found your content.

Proof that your strategy worked.

Proof that you can learn something completely new.

And proof that your income doesn't necessarily have to be limited to what an employer decides to pay you.

Once you make that first commission, your brain starts thinking differently.

Instead of:

"Can I actually make money online?"

You start thinking:

"How can I do this again?"

And that's where growth begins.

Affiliate Marketing Gave Me Something Bigger Than Money

Of course, I started affiliate marketing because I wanted to make more money.

But what I didn't expect was how much it would change the way I thought about my future.

For so long, I believed financial freedom was something that happened once you got the perfect job, received a huge promotion or somehow got lucky.

Learning how to generate income online showed me another possibility.

I could build something.

I could learn valuable skills.

I could create additional income streams.

I could stop waiting for someone else to change my financial situation and start taking steps toward changing it myself.

And that feeling is incredibly empowering.

If You're Struggling Financially Right Now, Please Read This

Maybe you're reading this while living paycheck to paycheck.

Maybe you're constantly checking your bank account.

Maybe you're working a job that completely drains you.

Maybe you have debt you're trying to pay off.

Maybe you desperately want to travel, move, start a business or simply have enough money left after your bills to actually enjoy your life.

Or maybe you're doing "okay" financially...

but deep down you know you want more.

I've felt that way too.

And I want you to understand something:

Your current financial situation does not have to be your forever situation.

You are capable of learning something new.

You are capable of building another source of income.

You are capable of becoming the person who understands marketing, business and how to make money online—even if you know absolutely nothing about those things today.

You don't have to become that person overnight.

You just have to start.

You Are Not Too Late

Sometimes social media can make you feel like everyone has already figured it out.

Someone is making $10K months.

Someone else quit their job.

Someone is traveling full-time.

Someone bought their dream house.

And you're sitting there wondering:

"Why isn't that happening for me?"

But instead of using someone else's success as proof that you're behind, start looking at it as proof of what's possible.

Every successful person you follow was once a beginner.

They had a first post.

A first affiliate link.

A first website.

A first commission.

A first month where almost nothing happened.

The difference is that they kept going long enough to learn what worked.

And you can do the exact same thing.

Imagine Where You Could Be One Year From Now

This is something I constantly remind myself.

A year is going to pass whether you start or not.

Imagine spending that year learning how to create content.

Learning Pinterest.

Learning affiliate marketing.

Learning how to drive traffic.

Learning how to build a brand.

Learning how to sell online.

Learning how to turn your ideas into income.

Where could you be twelve months from now?

You might make your first $100 online.

Then your first $1,000.

Maybe eventually your first $10,000 month.

There are no guarantees in online business, and everyone's results will be different.

But you'll never discover what's possible for you if you never give yourself permission to begin.

START THE AFFILIATE MARKETING COURSE HERE

I personally took this course, implemented what I learned and have been able to make money through affiliate marketing.

But I'm not sharing this because I think purchasing one course magically changes your life.

You still have to do the work.

You have to learn.

You have to post.

You have to test different strategies.

You have to keep going when your first few pieces of content don't perform the way you wanted.

But that's exactly why I believe having a roadmap can be so valuable.

Instead of spending months wondering where to begin, you can learn from someone who has already built the type of business you're trying to create.

Your Dream Life Has To Start Somewhere

If you've been waiting for a sign to finally start building something for yourself, maybe this is it.

Not because affiliate marketing is some magical shortcut to becoming rich.

But because you deserve to discover what you're capable of.

Your dream life isn't reserved for influencers.

It isn't reserved for people who grew up wealthy.

It isn't reserved for people who already have a huge following.

And it isn't reserved for someone who is somehow more deserving than you.

You're allowed to want more.

You're allowed to want financial freedom.

You're allowed to want mornings that aren't dictated by an alarm clock.

You're allowed to want the beautiful home.

The vacations.

The freedom.

The savings account.

The ability to help your family.

The ability to say yes without immediately worrying about money.

And most importantly...

You're allowed to believe that you can actually create it.

I started as a beginner too.

I had to learn.

I had doubts.

I didn't have everything figured out.

But I started anyway.

And that decision introduced me to an entirely different way of making money and thinking about my future.

Your first step doesn't have to be huge.

It just has to be forward. ♡
